# Launching and tracking results

> Start the campaign after a final check, and pause and resume it whenever you want. Follow its progress contact by contact, along with the sends and minutes it uses.

> **Before you start**
>
> - In [Campaign options](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/options.md), the Summary says “Everything is ready to start.”.
> - You've checked the consent of the people in the audience, as explained in [Consent and rules](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/consent-and-rules.md). The console doesn't check it for you: the campaign contacts all the contacts you chose.

## Starting the campaign

1. **Save**
In Campaign options, press Save changes: the launch reads the saved campaign, not what you have on screen.

2. **Press “Start”**
It's in the top bar, next to the Draft status. If it's a voice campaign and your plan doesn't include outbound calls, the plan window opens instead.

3. **Read what happens**
The “Start campaign” window sums up the campaign: who calls or which template goes out, to how many contacts, on which days and time slots, at what pace. For example: “The template Spring promo goes out to 118 reachable contacts of the list 2025 customers.”. If something is missing, the window lists what's missing and keeps the button disabled.

4. **Confirm**
Press Start campaign. “Campaign started” appears and the campaign's Overview opens.

> **Result**
>
> The status at the top is Running. In the Dashboard, under Executions, you find one row per contact: Queued until its turn comes, then its outcome.

_Before launch, the window sums up who receives what, when and at what pace._

## What happens after launch

- The campaign reads the audience **at that moment**, with one row per contact. Usage is covered in [Sends and minutes](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/launch-and-results.md#sends-and-minutes); for people who join the list later, see [Contacts added after launch](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/launch-and-results.md#contacts-added-after-launch).
- **WhatsApp**: messages go out from the workspace's number at the chosen pace; Meta updates the delivery status and replies reach the agent connected to the channel.
- **Calls**: the voice agent calls from its number and calls back the people who weren't reached, according to the attempts you set: see [Retry settings](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/options.md#retry-settings).
- When there are no contacts left to reach, the campaign switches to Completed on its own: see the statuses in [Campaigns](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/overview.md).

## Pausing and resuming

1. **Pause**
Press Pause at the top and confirm. No new contact is called or messaged, waiting sends stay in the queue, and calls and messages already in progress finish.

2. **Edit, if needed**
While the campaign is paused, you can change everything except the audience choice, from Campaign options. Then press Save changes.

3. **Resume**
Press Resume. The window says how many sends restart, for example “42 waiting sends restart.”. Confirm with Resume: the status goes back to Running.

If something is missing at the final check, the reason appears in the window with the Go to the Options link. If the campaign stopped because sends or minutes ran out, Resume opens the plan window: see [When sends or minutes run out](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/launch-and-results.md#when-sends-or-minutes-run-out).

### Contacts added after launch

Contacts that join the chosen list after launch are added to the campaign when you pause it and resume it. This also applies to new contacts in the workspace, if the audience is All workspace contacts.

The progress percentage can go down. A completed campaign, on the other hand, can't be resumed: to reach the new contacts, create a new campaign.

### Contacts removed from the list after launch

Removing a contact from the list doesn't cancel their send. If the campaign has already started, whether it's running or paused, the message or call for them still goes out when their turn comes. To stop it, you have two options:

- **block them**: when their turn comes, the row becomes Excluded, with “Blocked contact: skipped.”. Unblock them only once the row shows as excluded: in the meantime, the block also stops the agent's replies. See [Blocking contacts](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/contacts/blocking.md);
- **delete them**: their row disappears from the Dashboard right away, as explained below.

## The campaign's Overview

It's the page that opens after launch. While the campaign is running or paused, the numbers update on their own.

- Status: the current status and, if the campaign stopped on its own, the reason.
- Lead progress: here “leads” are the campaign's contacts. It shows how many the campaign has already handled, that is, reached, failed or excluded, out of the total, for example “35 / 120”.
- Calls made, retries included, or Messages sent, that is, accepted by WhatsApp.
- Success rate: [successful calls](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/voice-agent/calls.md#the-successful-call) out of all calls, or messages delivered or read out of all those sent.
- Information and Sending hours: the configuration the campaign is working with.

## The Dashboard

The period, at the top, starts by covering the campaign's whole lifetime; you can choose a quick period or a Custom range.... Before launch, you see “This campaign hasn't started yet”.

- Progress, which doesn't depend on the period: the percentage of contacts already handled, that is, reached, failed or excluded, and the Handled, Queued, Excluded and Average attempts boxes.
- The period's results, compared with the previous period, with an estimate of the work left.
- Trend over time: the chart of calls or messages and of replies.
- Executions: one row per contact, with the filters All, Queued, In progress, Completed, Failed and Excluded. From the row, open the call or conversation the send created; the arrow opens the send details.

### Each contact's status

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Queued | Waiting for its turn or for the next attempt. The details show when it's scheduled. |
| In progress | The call or send is happening right now. |
| Completed | Calls: one attempt succeeded. WhatsApp: WhatsApp accepted the message and Meta didn't report any delivery errors. It doesn't mean the customer received or read it: the delivery status is in the send details. |
| Failed | Calls: no attempt succeeded, or there was an error. WhatsApp: the message didn't go out, or it went out and Meta then reported that it wasn't delivered. In the second case, the row changes from Completed to Failed, without a new send. |
| Excluded | Skipped without attempts: no number or a number that wasn't recognized, blocked, or because the month's sends had run out. The latter go back into the queue on their own: see [When sends or minutes run out](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/launch-and-results.md#when-sends-or-minutes-run-out). Contacts excluded right at launch don't use a send. Contacts excluded when their turn comes have already used one: for example, a contact blocked while the campaign is running, or one with an unrecognized number. |

If you delete a contact while their row is still Queued, the row disappears from the Dashboard and the contact isn't reached. If you delete the list chosen as the audience, this happens to all the contacts still queued.

### The details of a send

The “Send details” panel tells you what happened to that contact:

- numbers and dates of the attempts;
- for WhatsApp, the delivery status (Sent, Delivered, Read or Failed) and the first reply. Failed is the same outcome that's called Not delivered in the conversations inbox;
- the actual values of the variables;
- for calls, each attempt with Succeeded or Failed and the end reason, for example “No answer”, “Busy”, “Voicemail” or “Invalid number”.

For an excluded contact you only find the reason, for example “Blocked contact: skipped.”. An unrecognized number shows up as “Contact without a phone number: skipped.”: fix it in the contact card, with the international dialing code.

_From the Executions table, open the details of a send and see how each attempt went._

## Sends and minutes

- **Campaign sends.** One for each contact put in the queue, deducted at launch, in voice campaigns too. Retries to the same contact don't use sends.
- **Call minutes.** Voice campaigns also use minutes, counted like other outbound calls.

> **Warning**
>
> **Meta charges for templates separately.** Your business pays Meta directly for each WhatsApp template the campaign sends, with the payment method of your WhatsApp Business account and at Meta's rates. It isn't included in the sends of your SupportFast plan. See [Meta rules: what it costs and who pays](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/integrations/meta-rules.md#what-it-costs-and-who-pays).

The month's usage is in Account › Subscription; how sends and minutes are counted is explained in [Plans, quotas and usage](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/account/plans-and-usage.md#how-usage-is-counted).

## When sends or minutes run out

The campaign switches to Paused on its own: the reason for the pause appears next to the status and the account owner receives a warning email.

- **Sends run out.** The contacts for whom there were no sends left aren't lost: in the Dashboard they're among the Excluded, with “Monthly sends used up: skipped.”. On the 1st of the following month they go back into the queue and the campaign restarts on its own, if the plan has sends again and room for a running campaign. When it restarts, it also reaches people who joined the audience in the meantime. A “Send pack” bought after the pause doesn't make it restart sooner: Resume only opens the plan window. The pack's extra sends serve the month's other campaigns and, from the 1st, this one too.
- **Minutes run out.** The contacts still to be called stay Queued. The campaign doesn't restart on its own, not even the following month, and Resume only opens the plan window, even if you buy a “Minute pack”. To get it going again, write to us, as explained in [How to report a problem](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/help/report-a-problem.md).

> **Warning**
>
> **On the 1st, a campaign stopped because sends ran out restarts with the message it has.** If that message no longer makes sense at the start of the month, for example because the promotion has expired, decide before the 1st: while it's paused, you can change the template in Campaign options or, for calls, the voice agent, or you can delete the campaign. Before deleting it, note down the results you need: its history disappears along with the campaign.

> **Tip**
>
> **Avoid the pause with automatic purchase.** If you turn it on, when one of the month's quotas is about to run out, the matching pack is bought automatically and is valid until the end of the month. See [Add-ons and automatic purchase](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/account/add-ons.md).

## Several campaigns at once

You can have several campaigns running at the same time, up to the number of running campaigns your plan allows. Beyond that, Start and Resume open the plan window. A completed campaign frees up its place among the running campaigns. All campaigns draw on the same monthly sends and minutes.

## Frequently asked questions

**The campaign is “Running” but nothing goes out.**

You're probably outside the time slots, on an excluded day or in a different time zone than you think. In the Dashboard, filter by Queued and open a send: you see when it's scheduled, for example “No attempt yet: the send is scheduled for …”.
