# Campaign options

> On the Campaign options page you decide who to contact, with which message or which voice agent, on which days and at what times, and how many times to retry. The summary tells you what's missing before launch.

Page: https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/options/ · Section: Campaigns · Updated on 30 October 2026

## Where to find it

Open the campaign and press Campaign options in the side menu, or Options in the top bar. After you create a campaign, the page opens on its own.

On the left are Campaign details, Message (WhatsApp only), Allowed hours and Retry settings (voice campaigns only). On the right, always in view, are Audience and Summary.

> **Before you start**
>
> - What the channel needs: see [What you need first](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/overview.md#what-you-need-first).

## Campaign details

- **Campaign name (Text · max 50 characters · required)**: Only the team sees it, never the contacts. It's the only field you must fill in to save.

- **Voice assistant (Menu · voice campaigns only)**: The voice agent that makes the calls: here the console calls it “Voice assistant”, and in the campaign's Overview “Assistant”. Only the workspace's active **outbound** voice agents appear. The call goes out from the agent's number, which you don't choose here: see [Assigning and managing numbers](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/telephony/manage-numbers.md).

If there are none, you see “No active outbound voice agent in this workspace.”. If the saved agent can no longer place calls, Agent unavailable appears, with “This agent can no longer place calls: choose another one.”.

- **Sends per minute (Slider from 1 to 60 · WhatsApp only)**: The maximum number of messages the campaign sends in one minute. A lower pace spreads the replies over time, so the agent and the team can follow them more easily.

  (Default: 20 per minute)

## Message

WhatsApp campaigns only: the channel, the template and the values that complete it.

- **WhatsApp integration (Read-only)**: The workspace's WhatsApp number, with its status. You don't choose the sender: it's this number. If it's missing, you see “Connect a WhatsApp number to send the campaign.”. If it has a problem, you see “The WhatsApp channel is in error: the campaign will not start until it is back.”. Go to Integrations takes you there to fix it.

- **Approved template (Menu)**: The templates approved by Meta appear here. The preview is on the right.

Use a **Marketing** template (promotions, offers, invitations) or a **Utility** one (updates, confirmations, reminders). Changing the template clears variables and buttons. A template that can no longer be used becomes Template unavailable, with “This template is no longer usable.”.

- **Template variables (One field per variable)**: “Each variable takes its value from the contact receiving the message.” Each field carries the variable's name, or Variable 1, Variable 2 for numbered ones.

Type a fixed text, insert a contact detail with the Insert variable button inside the field (Contact group), or combine the two. For example: in the field for the customer's name, insert the contact's first name; in the field for the location, type “via Roma 1”.

- **Buttons (One field per button)**: “These buttons need a value for every send.” They appear for buttons with a dynamic link, where you type the final part of the address, and for those that copy a code, where you type the code.

> **Warning**
>
> **An empty detail stops the send to that contact**, as explained in [If the contact doesn't have that detail](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/contacts/variables-profiling.md#dato-vuoto). If it happens to many contacts in a row, the campaign is paused with “Paused for too many template errors”.

A template has only one language: if your contacts speak different languages, prepare one campaign per language, each with its own list.

_Template, audience and hours on one page: the Summary tells you when the campaign is ready._

## Allowed hours

When the campaign can contact people. Outside these hours nothing goes out: the campaign stays running and resumes at the next open time slot.

- **Time zone (Menu with search)**: The time zone the time slots are read in. It starts from the workspace's time zone (“Taken from the workspace settings.”); if you change it, the change applies only to this campaign. Search for it by typing a city. If you contact people in another country, choose their time zone.

- **Contact hours (Time slots per day of the week)**: One row per day, Monday to Sunday. Add time slot adds a slot: change its times with From and To. Remove slot deletes it. A day with no time slots is a day when nobody is contacted.

The Copy these slots to other days icon copies them to Every day, Weekdays or Weekend. Without any time slot, the campaign doesn't start.

- **Do not contact on these days (Dates)**: Holidays and closures. Press Add day to skip, choose the date (from today onward) and press Add day. Remove day removes it.

- **Copy the workspace hours (Button)**: The campaign starts out with the workspace's opening hours. If you later change the time slots, or the workspace hours, this button copies the workspace hours into the time slots again. It only appears if the workspace has opening hours.

## Retry settings

Voice campaigns only: how many times to call back people who weren't reached.

- **Max attempts (From 1 to 5)**: Up to 5 attempts in total, first call included: with 3 attempts, the campaign calls the same person at most three times.

  (Default: 1 attempt)

- **Interval between attempts (Number and unit)**: How long to wait between one attempt and the next, in Minutes, Hours or Days. With a single attempt, the field is disabled.

  (Default: 60 minutes)

An attempt succeeds when the call is successful, as explained in [The successful call](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/voice-agent/calls.md#the-successful-call): then there's no callback. Otherwise, the campaign calls back as long as attempts remain. An attempt that would fall outside the time slots moves to the next opening.

If the number isn't valid or the phone carrier blocks the call, the campaign closes the contact right away, with no more attempts: see the [end reasons](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/voice-agent/calls.md#successful-call-status-outcome-end-reason).

## Audience

Who receives the campaign. You choose it before the first start, and then it can't change: “The audience is chosen before the first start. Duplicate the campaign to change it.”. See also [Contacts added after launch](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/launch-and-results.md#contacts-added-after-launch).

- **Recipients (Choice)**: All workspace contacts or A list.

“All contacts” means the whole contact book, which fills up on its own: people who wrote to you in chat, on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger, people who called you, people you imported, people who left their details during tests with Test Chat and, if you also use the number in the WhatsApp Business app, the app's address book. For promotions, always choose a list of people who gave their consent: see [Consent and rules](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/campaigns/consent-and-rules.md).

  (Default: All workspace contacts)

- **Contact list (Menu · only with “A list”)**: The workspace's lists, each with its number of contacts. If the saved list has been deleted, you see “This list no longer exists: choose another one.”.

- **Count (Automatic)**: The console counts the contacts, for example “120 contacts found”, and splits them into reachable and not reachable. In this count, “reachable” means **contactable** by the campaign: they have a number, they aren't blocked and, in WhatsApp campaigns, they aren't marked “Not reachable” in the contact book. It isn't the WhatsApp status “Reachable” on the contact card: a “Never contacted” contact is contactable too. You find the WhatsApp status next to the main number, as explained in [The contact card](https://supportfast.ai/en/guide/contacts/contact-card.md#contact-information).

Hover over the not reachable ones to see the reasons: without a number, blocked, not on WhatsApp. If nobody is contactable: “No reachable contacts, the campaign will not contact anyone.”.

## Summary: the check before launch

The Summary panel checks the campaign as you fill it in. At the top it says “Everything is ready to start.” or how many settings are missing, for example “2 settings are missing to start.”. Below, each requirement has a green check mark or a red X. For WhatsApp, the template is complete only if the channel is active and all the variables and buttons have a value.

## Saving your changes

At the first change, the bar with the pending changes appears at the bottom, with Cancel and Save changes. You can save a half-finished campaign and complete it later.
